MINUTES


Representative Joe Atkins, Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:04 P.M. on March 8, 2007, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Johnson moved that the minutes of March 6, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 933 (Tillberry) Vehicle Protection Product Act adopted.

Representative Atkins moved HF 933.

Representative Atkins moved that HF 933 be recommended to pass and referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 554 (Nelson) Employee Free Choice Act support memorialized by resolution to Congress.

Representative Atkins moved HF 554.

Representative Nelson testified on HF 554.

Representative Atkins moved that HF 554 be recommended to pass. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1022 (Knuth) Rental vehicle no-fault auto insurance coverage regulated.

Representative Knuth moved HF 1022.

Representative Knuth moved that HF 1022 be recommended to pass. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1441 (Simon) Limited purpose trust companies nonsubstantive term changes provided.

Representative Atkins moved HF 1441.

Representative Simon testified on HF 1441.

Representative Atkins moved that HF 1441 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the consent calendar. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Lillie assumed the gavel at 4:28pm.

HF 512 (Atkins) Gift certificate and gift card expiration dates and service fees prohibited.

Representative Atkins moved HF 512.

Representative Atkins moved the H0512A4 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Paulsen moved to orally amend HF 512 as follows: delete subd. 5. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Representative Simpson moved to orally amend HF 512 as follows: delete L 2.12 and L 2.13.

Representative Simpson withdrew his amendment.

Representative Atkins moved that HF 512, as amended, be recommended to pass. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Atkins assumed the gavel at 4:38pm.

HF 1300 (Juhnke) Fuel terminals weekly inventory reports required.

Representative Atkins moved HF 1300.

Representative Juhnke moves the A07-0206 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
