MINUTES


Representative Joe Atkins, Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:03 P.M. on February 27, 2007, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Zellers moved that the minutes of February 22, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 219 (Walker) A bill for an act relating to employment; modifying use of personal sick leave benefits.

Representative Davnie moved the Division Report on HF 219. THE REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Atkins moved HF 219.

The following people testified on HF 219:

Representative Atkins moved that HF 219 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Finance Committee. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 966 (Howes) Nurse overtime orders of compliance authorized.

Representative Zellers moved HF 966.

Representative Atkins moved the H0966A4 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Zellers moved that HF 966, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Health Policy Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 648 (Mahoney) Unemployment Insurance policy, housekeeping, and style modifications provided; administrative rules incorporated into statute; and fraud penalties modified.

Representative Mahoney moved HF 648.

Representative Atkins moved HF 643.

Representative Anzelc moved the H0643A7 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
