BIOSCIENCES AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES COMMITTEE

MINUTES


Representative Tim Mahoney, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:06AM on February 28, 2007 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Members excused:

A quorum was present.

Representative Beard moved that the minutes from February 14 and February 27, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1203 (Poppe), a bill for an act relating to taxation; sales and use; exempting building materials, supplies, and equipment used to construct, improve, and expand the facilities of a bioscience institute; removing an obsolete provision;

Vice Chair Norton moved that HF 1203 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Vice Chair Norton moved amendment A07-0121 (attached).

THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Mahoney assumed the gavel at 10:12AM.

Representative Poppe presented HF 1203.

Vice Chair Norton renewed the motion that HF 1203 pass, as amended, and be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 11AM.
