MINUTES


Representative Mary Liz Holberg, Chair of the Transportation Finance Committee, called the Ninth meeting to order at 12:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 17, 2005, in
Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Members present:

A quorum was present.

Representative Anderson moved approval of the February 15, 2005 Transportation Finance Committee Meeting Minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

HF0210 (Blaine) Fire departments reimbursed for expenses incurred in extinguishing motor vehicle fires, cities and towns authorized to collect unpaid bills for emergency services from nonresidents, and money appropriated.

Chair Holberg moved HF0210 be heard by the committee.

Representative Blaine presented HF0210.

Testifying on behalf of HF0210:

Edward Leier (12:40 – 12:45) Chief, Vadnais Heights Fire Department

Chair Holberg laid over HF0210 on the table.

HF0212 (Dorman) Two-wheeled vehicle license endorsement fees reallocated to the motorcycle safety fund, and funding cap removed.

Representative Magnus moved HF0212 be heard by the committee.

Representative Dorman presented HF0212.

Testifying on behalf of HF0212:

Tom Workman (12:59 – 1:03) American Bikers for Awareness Training
and Education

Chair Holberg laid over HF0212 for possible inclusion in the Transportation Finance Omnibus Bill.

Discussion occurred about the Results of the Metropolitan Council Peer Review.

Jack Leary (1:08 – 1:50) Metro Transit/American Public Transit Association


Chair Holberg adjourned the meeting at 1:53 P.M.
