MINUTES


Representative Ron Erhardt, Chairman of the Transportation Policy Committee and Rep. Mary Liz Holberg Chairwoman of the Transportation Finance Committee, called the Seventh meeting to order at 2:35 PM on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, in Room 10 of the State Office Building. This was a joint meeting with the Transportation Finance Committee.

A quorum was present.

HF0313 (Hornstein) Street utility fee imposition by cities authorized.

Representative Hornstein moved HF0313 be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Local Government.

Representative Hornstein moved the H0313A1 amendment (see attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hornstein presented HF0313.

Rep. Hornstein moved approval of the minutes: February 2, 2005. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Erhardt brought back SF225/HF124 (Magnus) authorizing turnback of Legislative Route No. 268 in Pipestone County for consideration and recommended it be approved and referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Erhardt brought back SF234/HF277 (Eken) authorizing turnback of Legislative Route No. 224 to Becker County for consideration and recommended it be approved and referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Erhardt brought back HF254 (Heidgerken) amending description of Legislative Route No. 254 for consideration and recommended it be approved and referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Holberg moved approval of HF577 (Holberg) freeway and expressway shoulder use by transit buses provisions modified, and metro mobility buses authorized to use shoulders and recommended it be referred to the General Register.

Rep. Holberg presented HF577.

Presenting testimony on HF577 was:
Judd Schetnan, Director of Legislative Affairs, Metropolitan Council.

John Williams, House Research offered the following oral amendment to HF577:
page 2, line 10, after "operated by" insert "the Metropolitan Council, or operated by".
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Betsy Parker, MnDOT, provided clarification on the legislation.

Rep. Holberg renewed her motion to approve HF577 as amended and that it be referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:15 PM.
