MINUTES


Rep. Joe Hoppe, Chair of the Liquor Subcommittee - Regulated Industries Committee, called the second meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. on April 5, 2005 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Members present:

Members excused: NONE

A quorum was present.

HF 1762 (Marquardt) Detroit Lakes on-sale liquor license authorized.

Rep. Hoppe moved that HF 1762 be brought before the committee for consideration.

Rep. Hoppe moved to amend HF 1762 as follows:

Page 1, line 9, strike “Castaway Inn and Resort”
Page 1, line 9, insert “Lodge on Lake Detroit”

The motion prevailed. The amendment to the amendment was adopted.

The following individuals testified before the committee regarding HF 1762, as amended:

Rep. Hoppe renewed the motion that HF 1762, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Regulated Industries. The motion prevailed.

HF 1226 (Lanning) Attainment of age specified at 8:00 a.m. on the day of person's 21st birthday with respect to the use of alcohol.

Rep. Hoppe moved that HF 1226 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Regulated Industries.

Rep. Simpson moved to amend HF 1226 (A05-0287 amendment). The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Rep. Hoppe renewed the motion that HF 1226, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Regulated Industries. The motion prevailed.

HF 687 (Bernardy) Alcohol sales to underage persons minimum administrative penalties imposed.

Rep. Hoppe moved that HF 687 be brought before the committee for consideration.
