Representative Rob Eastlund, Vice-Chair of the Public Safety Policy and Finance Committee, called the twenty-fourth meeting to order at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Rep. Eastlund moved HF243 (Simon) relating to electronic use of false pretense to obtain identity of another person prohibited, and criminal penalties imposed.

Eastlund moved to amend HF243 with the A05-0160 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS INCORPORATED.

Eastlund moved to amend HF243 with the H0243A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS INCORPORATED.

Rep. Simon presented HF243.

Rep. Johnson moved approval of the minutes of March 8, 2005, Public Safety Policy and Finance Meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Eastlund moved HF1200 (Cybart) relating to name changes; courts authorized to conduct a search if a person applies for a name change.

Rep. Eastlund moved to amend HF1200 with the H1200DE2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Smith assumed the Chair.

Rep. Cybart presented HF1200.

Rep. Smith moved HF929 (Smith) relating to identity theft penalties modified, minimum restitution payments specified, and information provided to victims of identity theft.

Rep. Smith moved to amend HF929 with the H0929A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS INCORPORATED.
