Representative Bob Gunther, Chair of the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Committee called the fifty-third meeting to order at 8:34 a.m., on Thursday, March 16, 2006, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

HF3109(Samuelson) Ramsey County teen parents child care pilot project authorized.

Chair Gunther moves HF3109 to be before the committee.

Representative Samuelson presented HF3109.

Chair Gunther moved to amend HF3109, line 1.23 delete “children in” insert “with income that is below poverty level and whose children attend”. The motion prevailed. The oral amendment to HF3109 was adopted.

Vice-Chair Garofalo moved HF3226 to be before the committee.


Representative Charron presented HF3226.

Vice-Chair Garofalo moved the H3226A2 amendment. The motion prevailed. The H3226A2 Amendment was adopted.

Representative Slawik moved HF2977 to be before the committee.

Representative Poppe presented HF2977.

Representative Mahoney moved to approve the Minutes of March 14, 2006 and the Minutes of March 15, 2006. The motion prevailed. The Minutes of March 14 & 15, 2006 were approved.


HF3149(Penas) Hallock economic development grant provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Gunther moved HF3149 to be before the committee.

Representative Penas presented HF3149.

Chair Gunther moved to amend HF3149, Line 1.6, insert “$200,000”. The motion prevailed. The oral amendment to HF3149 was adopted.

Representative Sertich moved to take HF3058 off the table and bring it back before the committee. The motion prevailed. HF3058 was taken off the table and brought back before the committee.

Representative Sertich moved Amendment H3058DE1. The motion prevailed. Amendment H3058DE1 was adopted.

Representative Sertich moved amendment H3058A1.
Representative Sertich moved to amend Amendment H3058A1, Line 1.1, delete “H.F. No. 3058” insert “Amendment H3058A1”; Line 1.2 Delete “5” insert “4”; Delete “27” insert “34”. The Motion prevailed. Amendment H3058A1, as amended, was adopted.
