MINUTES


Representative Bob Gunther, Chair of the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Committee called the forty-ninth meeting to order at 8:20 a.m., on Thursday, March 2, 2006, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

House Members present:

Members excused: All members were present.

A quorum was present.


Chair Gunther introduced HF3068(Davids) Houston County Historical Society grant bonds issued and money appropriated.

Representative Davids and Representative Pelowski presented HF3068.

HF3068 was laid over for possible inclusion in the bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Committee.



Chair Gunther introduced HF2764(Jaros) Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.

Representative Jaros presented HF2764.

Dan Russell, Executive Director, Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center

HF2764 was laid over for possible inclusion in the bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Committee.


Chair Gunther brought HF201(Kahn) back before the committee.

Representative Westerberg moved to amend HF201(Kahn), Page 1, line 7, delete "$13,000,000" and insert "$6,640,000" . Page 1, line 14, delete "$13,000,000" and insert "$6,640,000" . The amendment was adopted.

HF201(Kahn) was laid over for possible inclusion in the bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Committee.


Chair Gunther brought HF283(Zellers) back before the committee.

Representative Westerberg moved to amend HF283(Zellers), Page 1, line 7, delete "$12,000,000" and insert "$15,000,000" . Page 1, line 17, delete "$12,000,000" and insert "$15,000,000" . The amendment was adopted.

HF283(Zellers) was laid over for possible inclusion in the bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Committee.


Chair Gunther brought HF1694(Thao) back before the committee.

Representative Westerberg moved to amend HF1694(Thao), Page 1, line 7, delete "$2,000,000" and insert "$4,500,000" . Page 1, line 17, delete "$2,000,000" and insert "$4,500,000" . The amendment was adopted.

HF1694(Thao) was laid over for possible inclusion in the bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Committee.


Chair Gunther brought HF2590(Simpson) back before the committee.

Representative Westerberg moved to amend HF2590(Simpson), Page 1, line 6, delete "Office of" and insert "Pollution Control Agency" . Page 1, line 7, delete "Environmental Assistance" . The amendment was adopted.

HF2590(Simpson) was laid over for possible inclusion in the bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Committee.


Chair Gunther brought HF2802(Heidgerken) back before the committee.

Representative Westerberg moved to amend HF2802(Heidgerken) Page 1, line 10, delete "constructed" and insert "stabilization pond" . Page 1, line 11, delete "wetland". The amendment was adopted.

HF2802(Heidgerken) was laid over for possible inclusion in the bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Committee.
