Representative Bob Gunther, Chair of the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Committee, called the thirty-eighth meeting to order at 8:23 a.m., on Thursday, April 7, 2005, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

H. F.1783 (Bradley) Child care assistance modified by limiting absence days.

Representative Bradley moved HF1783 to be before the committee and recommended HF1783 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Bradley moved Amendment H1783A2. The motion prevailed and Amendment H1783A2 was adopted.

Representative Clark moved HF1894 to be before the committee and recommended HF1894 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Omnibus bill.

H.F.1329 (Slawik) Child care assistance income eligibility provisions modified, provider rate differential for accreditation established, license fees temporarily suspended, and fee schedule modified.

Representative Slawik moved HF1329 to be before the committee and recommended HF1329 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Sertich moved to approve the Minutes of March 30 & 31, 2005. The motion prevailed and the Minutes of March 30 & 31, 2005 were approved.


H.F.2027 (Walker) American Indian advisory councils reinstated.

Representative Sertich moved HF2027 to be before the committee and recommended that HF2027 pass and be re-referred to the committee on Government Operations and Veteran Affairs.

Representative Sertich moved to adopt Amendment H2027A1. The motion prevailed and Amendment H2027A1 was adopted.

Representative Walker presented HF2027.

Testifying on HF2027:
Don Allen, Budget & Legislative Liaison, Department of Human Services

Representative Sertich renewed his motion to recommend passage of HF2027, as amended, and re-refer to the committee on Government Operations and Veteran Affairs. The motion prevailed.
