MINUTES


Representative Bob Gunther, Chair of the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Committee, called the thirty-fourth meeting to order at 8:18 a.m., on Wednesday, March 30, 2005, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.


H.F. 1555 (Powell) Minnesota Emergency Health Powers Act and authority of out-of-state license holders modified.

Chair Gunther moved HF 1555 to be before the committee and recommended HF 1555 to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety.

Representative Powell presented HF 1555.

Chair Gunther renewed his motion to recommend passage of HF 1555 and to be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety Policy & Finance. The motion prevailed.


H.F. 1859 (Wilkin) Workers' Compensation Advisory Council recommendations adopted.

Representative Mahoney moved to recommend passage of HF 1859 and send to the General Register. The motion prevailed.


H.F. 1889 (Wilkin) Child protection, child welfare, child care, and child and family support provisions implemented.

Representative Wilkin moved HF 1889 to be before the committee and recommended that HF 1889 pass and be re-referred to the committee on Civil Law & Financial Institutions.

Representative Wilkin moved Amendment H1889A1. The motion prevailed and Amendment H1889A1 was adopted.

Representative Wilkin renewed his motion to recommend passage of HF 1889 and re-refer HF 1889 to the committee on Civil Law & Financial Institutions. The motion prevailed.


H.F. 1875 (Bradley) Human services agency technical amendments provided relating to children and family services, healthcare, and continuing care programs.

Representative Bradley moved HF 1875 to be before the committee and recommended passage and re-referral to the committee on Health Policy and Finance.

Representative Bradley presented HF 1875.

Representative Clark moved Amendment H1875A3. Representative Clark withdrew Amendment H1875A3.

Representative Clark moved Amendment H1875A2. Representative Clark requested a roll call vote.

Representative Nelson moved to amend Amendment H1875A2, add, page 1, line 37 of HF1875, delete “256K.35;” and add, page 43, line 35 of HF1875, after “subdivision 20”, delete “; and 256K.35”.

Representative Clark withdrew her request for a roll call vote and renewed her motion to adopt Amendment H1875A2, as amended. The motion prevailed. Amendment H1875A2, as amended, was adopted.
