MINUTES


Representative Bob Gunther, Chair of the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Committee, called the fifth meeting to order at 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2005, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Members excused: All members were present

A quorum was present.


Representative Ruth moved to approve the Minutes of January 13, 2005. The motion prevailed and the Minutes of January 13, 2005 were approved.


Chair Gunther moved HF 0050 to be before the committee and to be recommended for inclusion in the Capital Investment Omnibus Bill.

Representative Penas presented HF 0050.

Testifying on HF 0050 were:

Bob Bergland, Chair, Roseau Commission on flood mitigation

HF 0050 was laid over for recommendation for inclusion in the Capital Investment Omnibus Bill.


Representative Ruth moved HF 0078 to be before the committee and to be recommended for inclusion in the Capital Investment Omnibus Bill.

Representative Davids presented HF 0078.

Representative Gazelka moved to bring HF 0093 before the committee and to be recommended for inclusion in the Capital Investment Omnibus Bill.

Representative Lanning presented HF0093.

Chair Gunther turned the gavel over to Vice Chair Garofalo at 9:30 am.

Vice Chair Garofalo returned the gavel to Chair Gunther at 9:35 am.


Representative Sertich moved HF0008 to be before the committee and to be recommended for inclusion in the Capital Investment Omnibus Bill.

Representative Rukavina presented HF 0008.

HF0008 was laid over for recommendation for inclusion in the Capital Investment Omnibus Bill.


Representative Bradley moved HF0030 to be before the committee and to be recommended for inclusion in the Capital Investment Omnibus Bill.

Representative Bradley moved to amend HF 0030, on page 1, line 7, delete "$500,000" and insert "$283,000"; and on page 1, line 10, after "Pavilion", insert "and band shell." The motion prevailed and the oral amendment was adopted.

Representative Marquart presented HF 0030.
