MINUTES


Representative Bud Nornes, Chair of the Committee on Higher Education, called the twenty-seventh meeting to order at 1:10 PM on Monday, March 8, 2006, in Room 300S of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

1:10:29 PM Chair Nornes unofficially called the meeting to order.
1:10:49 PM Chair Nornes introduced new member Rep. Larry Haws.
1:11:36 PM Chair Nornes introduced new staff.
1:12:55 PM Susan Heegaard, Director of the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, introduced Mark Misukanis and presented an overview of the Governor’s Higher Education Bonding recommendations.
1:14:43 PM A quorum was present. Chair Nornes officially called the meeting to order.
1:14:57 PM Director Heegaard continued her presentation.
1:26:58 PM Mark Misukanis, with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education, responded to a question by the committee.
1:31:43 PM Laura King, Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer MnSCU, responded to a question by the committee.
1:41:07 PM Jayne Rankin, Minnesota Department of Finance, joined in the presentation.
1:56:03 PM Richard Pfutzenreuter, University of Minnesota, joined in the presentation.
2:36:42 PM Rep. Lyndon Carlson moved approval of the minutes: May 4, 2005. THE MOTION PREVAILED, THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.
2:36:56 PM Chair Nornes adjourned the meeting.
