MINUTES


Representative Ray Cox, Vice Chair of the Environment & Natural Resources Policy Committee, called the eighth meeting to order at 12:37 p.m. on February 17, 2005, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

12:37:29 PM Rep. Tingelstad moved the adoption of the minutes of the Environment & Natural Resources Committee dated February 15, 2005.

12:37:52 PM The Vice Chair announced that the committee would be hearing four DNR bills.
12:38:01 PM HF 683 (Hackbarth) Scientific and natural area acquisition and use provisions modified

Rep. Hackbarth moved that HF 683 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.
12:38:36 PM Director of Legislative Affairs - DNR, Bob Meier, explained the bill.
12:43:01 PM Questions by the Committee were posed to the testifier.
12:48:17 PM Rep. Tingelstad moved an oral amendment to correct the bill to read as follows:

“Page 2, after line 2 insert: "Sec. 4. (EFFECTIVE DATE.)
Sections 1 to 3 are effective the day following enactment."

Rep. McNamara moved that HF 436 be recommended to pass and be
re-referred to the Committee on Local Government.

1:11:52 PM Questions were posed by the Committee to the testifier and the author.
