MINUTES


Representative Buesgens, Chair of the Education Policy and Reform Committee, called the twenty-sixth meeting to order at 8:19AM on Thursday, March 2, 2006, in Room 200 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Rep. Charron moved approval of the April 19, 2005 minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

HF2874 (Klinzing): School districts required to spend at least 70 percent of their total operating expenditures on direct classroom expenditures.

Rep. Klinzing moved HF2874 for consideration before the committee.

Rep. Klinzing presented HF2874.

Rep. Buesgens reconvened the meeting at 3:40PM.

Rep. Davnie moved the H2874A1 amendment to HF2874.

Rep. Davnie presented the H2874A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Klinzing amended her motion to be that HF2874 be reported to the House without recommendation.

Rep. Dorn requested a rollcall on the HF2874. The results were as follows:
