Rep. Paul Marquart called the twenty-fourth meeting to order at 8:28AM on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in Room 200 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Rep. Erickson moved that HF1680 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Education Finance.

SF244 (Demmer) Consecutive teaching experience provided for a teacher whose probationary employment is interrupted by military service.

Rep. Peterson moved approval of the April 5, 2005 minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Nornes moved approval of the April 4, 2005 minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Demmer moved that SF244 be recommended to pass.

Rep. Demmer moved the SO244DE2 amendment to SF244. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Demmer presented SF244, as amended.

Rep. Demmer amended his motion that SF244, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the consent calendar. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

SF180 (Seifert) Parent discretion in classroom placement of children of multiple birth provided.

Rep. Erickson moved that SF180 be recommended to pass and be placed on the general register.

Rep. Seifert presented SF180.

HF834 (Dittrich) School district authority granted to offer certain rewards to persons who provide information that leads to the apprehension and arrest of a person or persons who have committed

Rep. Dittrich moved that HF834 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Education Finance.

Rep. Dittrich moved the H034A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Dittrich moved to amend HF834, as amended, by the following oral amendment:
HO34A1, line 7, after “administrators,”, insert “parents, students”.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
