MINUTES


Representative Tim Wilkin, Chairman of the Commerce and Financial Institutions Committee, called the twelfth meeting to order at 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Wilkin moved that House Files 1357 and 1356 be passed to the Technology, Bioscience and Medical Products Division without recommendation, and that House File 1002 be passed to the Tourism Division without recommendation.

The motion prevailed.


HF667 (Gazelka) Minnesota FAIR plan property and liability coverage regulated.

Rep. Gazelka moved that HF667 be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register.

Rep. Gazelka presented HF667.

Rep. Gazelka moved to adopt the H0667A1 amendment to HF667.

The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Testifying on behalf of HF667:

Daniel Johnson, Executive Director, Minnesota FAIR Plan.

Rep. Gazelka renewed his motion that HF667, as amended, be recommended to pass and be sent to the General Register.

The motion prevailed.


Rep. Severson moved that the minutes from the meeting of February 23, 2005 be approved.

The motion prevailed.


HF933 (Loeffler) Motor Vehicle Retail Installment Sales Act recodified.


Rep. Loeffler moved that HF933 be recommended to pass and be sent to the Consent Calendar.

Rep. Loeffler presented HF933.

Rep. Loeffler renewed her motion that HF933 be recommended to pass and be sent to the Consent Calendar.

The motion prevailed.


HF1230 (Holberg) Wireless telephone directories regulated to protect consumer privacy.

Rep. Wilkin moved that HF1230 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Civil Law Committee.

Rep. Holberg presented HF1230.
