MINUTES



Chris DeLaForest, Vice Chairman of the Civil Law and Elections Committee, called the twenty first meeting to order at 12:40PM on Monday, April 4, 2005, in Room B of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Representative Emmer moved approval of the March 30, 2005 minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Nelson moved approval of the April 1, 2005 minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Chairman DeLaForest moved HF1068 (Howes) County review and approval of shoreland subdivisions required, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Local Government Committee. Co-Chairman DeLaForest moved the A05-0195 to be adopted (see attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chairman DeLaForest moved HF2226 (Lanning), Voter registration application deadline extended, proof of residency documentation clarified, application form specified, civil rights restoration notice required, and other election and voting provisions modified, be passed and re-referred to the General Register.

Chairman DeLaForest withdrew his motion that HF2226 be re-referred to the General Register and moved that it be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations.

Chairman DeLaForest moved the A4 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chairman DeLaForest moved the A2 amendment. THE MOTION DID NOT
