MINUTES



Representative Jeff Johnson, Chairman of the Civil Law Committee, called the eighth meeting to order at 12:35 PM on Monday, February 21, 2005, in Room B of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Brod moved that HF233 be recommended to pass and re-referred to Transportation Policy Committee.

Representative Davids presented HF233 relating to agriculture; increasing minimum ethanol content required for gasoline sold in the state;

Representative Brod moved the A05-0076 amendment.

Chairman Johnson laid HF 233, as amended, on the table at 1:50 PM.

Representative Jeff Johnson moved HF295 (Davnie) relating to school board elections; Special School District No. 1; providing for six members to be elected by district and three to be elected at-large.

Representative Jeff Johnson renewed his motion that HF295, be passed and re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Jeff Johnson moved HF341 (Howes), civil commitment of sexually dangerous persons, be passed and re-referred to Public Safety Policy.

Representative Johnson moved the DM37 amendment (see attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Represented Howes presented HF341.

Representative Jeff Johnson renewed his motion that HF341, as amended, be passed and re-referred to the Public Safety Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Johnson took HF233 from the table at 1:20 PM.

Representative Laura Brod moved the A05-0076 amendment (see attached), as follows:

Line 7, after the word "acts", insert "under any theory of liability except for negligence."

Representative Simon moved the 0065B amendment (see attached.) THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Representative Brod renewed her motion that HF 233 be passed and re-referred to the Transportation Policy Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative DeLaForest moved HF307(Cornish) Cervidae regulation by Board of Animal Health provided, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative DeLaForest renewed his motion that HF307 be passed and re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
