House DFL statement on drought relief legislation

St. Paul, Minnesota — Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and Agriculture Finance & Policy Committee Vice Chair Samantha Vang issued the following statements on drought relief legislation:

"Minnesota's farmers have faced the worst drought many of them have seen in their lifetimes. The success of our agricultural economy is critical to the success of our entire state,” said Speaker Hortman. “House DFLers will continue to work with Governor Walz and Senate Republicans to put together a package that will help the members of our agricultural community that have been negatively impacted by this historic drought." 

??“This summer’s extreme drought has caused hardship for Minnesota farmers and food producers,” said Rep. Samantha Vang (DFL – Brooklyn Center), Vice Chair of the House Agriculture Committee. “House DFLers and Governor Walz support significant assistance to help our agriculture community, and I'm hopeful Senate Republicans will join us so we can deliver the help they need.”
