RELEASE: Applications Open for No Child Left Inside Mini Grants

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Application information for the No Child Left Inside grant program was released earlier this week. This new program funds outdoor environmental, ecological, and other natural resource-based activities for Minnesota youth, particularly those who would otherwise have limited access to these opportunities. It was established this year by legislation championed by Rep. Jamie Becker-Finn (DFL – Roseville).

“As a parent and someone who loves being out in nature, I’m excited about the opportunities that No Child Left Inside will create for Minnesota kids,” said Rep. Becker-Finn. “Hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities are very important to my family and families throughout our state. It’s important that we ensure the next generation of Minnesotans has the same opportunities to participate in these traditions.”

The first phase of No Child Left Inside is a mini grant program with grant awards of $500 to $5,000. Public entities, Native American Tribes, non-profit organizations, formal school programs, informal after-school programs, and community-based and city youth programs are eligible to apply for No Child Left Inside mini grants. Additional phases of the program will be announced later.
