New House member spurs committee changes

House Speaker Kurt Daudt (R-Crown) on Tuesday announced changes to House committee rosters following the swearing-in last week of Rep. Peggy Flanagan (DFL-St. Louis Park).

Flanagan, the winner of a special election to fill the formerly-vacant District 46A seat, has been added to the following House committees:

  • Education Innovation Policy;
  • Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance; and,
  • Rules and Legislative Administration.

In addition, first-term Rep. Cheryl Youakim (DFL-Hopkins) has been removed from the House Rules and Legislative Administration Committee and added to the House Higher Education Policy and Finance Committee.

The House is scheduled to reconvene March 8, 2016.
