Capitol under Construction: Treasures left behind

The Capitol’s $272.7 million comprehensive preservation project is turning up dozens of clues to the Capitol’s past. 

From old bottles to blueprints and an embossing stamp, some artifacts have not been seen since the early 20th century.  

Brian Pease, the Capitol Historic site manager, is busy documenting these relics for historical purposes, as he works to put together a picture of how Capitol visitors left their mark on state government.

This Capitol under Construction story highlights a historic artifact that takes us back to a simpler time of campaigning, before there were ads splashed on television soliciting support or tweets on twitter announcing candidacies.
