The House on Friday passed a measure that expands a list of conservation measures that can be used in a program aimed at helping reduce energy use.
HF1358, sponsored by Rep. Tim O'Driscoll (R-Sartell) would amend the definition of “energy conservation measure” related to guaranteed energy savings contracts in the state’s Uniform Municipal Contracting Law to include water metering devices that increase efficiency or accuracy, or save money.
The House passed the bill 124-0. It now goes to the Senate, where Sen. Kevin Dahle (DFL-Northfield) is the sponsor.
The state’s guaranteed energy savings contract program is aimed at finding operational cost savings in state agencies and local government units through implementing energy conservation measures.
