Starting Line: Proposal aims to modernize state constitution

 The Minnesota Constitution was adopted in 1857. It was a much different time, and some of the language found in the document wouldn’t necessarily be used today.

Rep. Kristin Bahner (DFL-Maple Grove) sponsors a proposal that aims to modernize that verbiage by including gender-neutral terms. Learn more about HF2766 and the question it would pose to voters in the 2020 election on this week’s Starting Line.
