New laws on tap for July 1 include long-awaited Sunday sales

It took a special session, but the state government is funded for the 2018-19 biennium. The fiscal year begins July 1, so most provisions in the funding bills signed by Gov. Mark Dayton take effect Saturday.

Also on tap July 1: Sunday sales. The law that sheds Minnesota's long-running prohibition on Sunday off-sale liquor sales goes into effect Saturday, allowing liquor stores across the state to keep their doors open through the weekend (should they choose).

Find out more information about other new laws taking effect July 1 at http://www.house.mn/hinfo/leginfo/0717nlrelease.pdf.

Summaries of all laws passed by the 2017 Legislature during regular and special sessions are available online from nonpartisan House Public Information Services here
