Friday’s first committee deadline meant a frantic week in the House.

For many committees and divisions, their normal meeting time wasn’t enough leading to members often gathering after dark to finish their business. Next week looks to be similar with the second deadline — committees must act favorably on bills, or companion bills, that met the first deadline in the other house — next Friday, St. Patrick’s Day. A little corned beef and cabbage for anyone? How about a green beverage?

Issues addressed in the past five days include: agriculture policy, guns, K-12 education policy, liquor, mental issues among teens, Metro Mobility, sex offenders, stadiums and veterans’ stories.

Before looking ahead to next week; let’s take a look at what you may have missed this week.

Check out the latest gallery from House Photography and stay up-to-date on House news and updates throughout the week at Session Daily.

And, don’t forget to set your clocks one hour ahead when you go to bed Saturday night.
