Legislative update

Friday, February 23, 2024

Dear Neighbor,

Last session under one-party Democrat control, the majority spent the entire $17.5 billion surplus, raised taxes by $10 billion, and grew government by 40%. They wasted money on frivolous projects and programs like a new $730 million office building for politicians, instead of using it to help Minnesota families.

This session, the DFL party is going full steam ahead on extreme policy bills, like legalizing assisted suicide, imposing more restrictive gun control laws that prohibit the sale or transfer of almost all semiautomatic weapons and ban the possession - not just transfer - of certain rifles, and making Minnesota a sanctuary state. I am strongly against all of these bills, and I've heard from many constituents that they are too.

I will continue to fight these extreme policies, and to restore prosperity to Minnesotans so they can continue to achieve the American Dream.

Constituent Visits

This week, several of our local legislators met with YMCA CEO Greg Gack. We had a great visit!

I also had a visit from several of our St. Cloud State students here at the Capitol for Students United Day at the Capitol! I love to see students getting involved in the legislative process.
