Akland Sworn-In for First Term in the Minnesota House of Representatives

SAINT PAUL, MN – Representative Susan Akland, R-St. Peter, was sworn-in Tuesday at the beginning of the 2021 legislative session. This is Representative Akland’s first term. She represents District 19A which includes all of Nicollet County, part of Le Sueur County (Kasota and Kasota Township), and part of Blue Earth County (Mankato).

“I am honored and humbled to represent the great communities of District 19A,” said Akland. “As a nurse of 40 years I look forward to bringing those experiences to St. Paul as I work with my colleagues to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic and rebuild our economy.”

Representative Akland defeated incumbent DFL Representative Jeff Brand in November. She will serve on the Environment and Natural Resources Finance & Policy Committee, Health Finance & Policy Committee, and Preventative Health Policy Division.
