Rep. Patty Acomb Advocates for Funding for Local Projects with House Capital Investment Committee

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Today, Representative Patty Acomb (DFL– Minnetonka) met the House Capital Investment Committee during their 2023 Bonding Tour as they toured the Twin Cities Metro Area. The committee is touring sites for proposed capital investment throughout the state.

Rep. Acomb joined the committee as they heard presentations from the City of Wayzata on the Lakefront Park on Wayzata Bay and from the City of Minnetonka on The Opus Public Space and The Marsh wellness and fitness center. The Minnetonka Opus Public Space project was included in the 2023 Capital Investment bill and is seeking funding for the next phase of the project.

Representative Patty Acomb released the following statement following the Capital Investment Committee’s visit:

“Improving public facilities like The Marsh, the Wayzata Lakefront Park, and the Minnetonka Opus Public Space will help our district and region continue to be a great place for people to work, visit, and raise a family.I want to thank the Capital Investment Committee for hearing about all the fantastic projects underway in our district. I look forward to pushing for these projects and more in the upcoming session.”

In 2023, Representative Acomb secured funding for the first stage of the Minnetonka Opus Public Space, a safety study for Shorewood Highway 7, and Hopkins Crossroads/Highway 73 Trail improvements. Those provisions passed as part of that year’s bipartisan capital investment bill.
