ST. PAUL, MN – Rep. Jeremy Munson (R-23B) announced to his district that area small businesses can apply for State COVID-19 grants STARTING TOMORROW.
“In spite of the legislative deadlock providing COVID Relief to greater Minnesota, there is funding available to small businesses who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees are eligible for $10,000 grants,” stated Rep. Munson.
Half of the funding will go to businesses in Greater Minnesota and half to businesses in the seven-county Twin Cities metro area, as required by law. Rep. Munson stressed, “All businesses are important, especially in our rural communities. While I did not agree with all the earmarks within this bill, I am glad to see some relief go to our rural businesses who are hurting from the shutdown. Funds will be given on a first come, first serve basis, so I encourage all qualifying businesses in the district to apply immediately. Applications can be submitted online through DEED.”
Additional requirements include:
The application period will begin on Tuesday, June 23 and close at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2 to fulfill the 10-day period required by the law.
