State Rep. Julie Sandstede (DFL – Hibbing) issued the following statement:
“Justice was served today. It is my hope that through the loss of George Floyd we all realize how much more is yet to be addressed, and that we take this moment to reflect upon the value of life. It is a precious gift – regardless of age, where you live, what you look like, or how you worship.
“I’m also genuinely grateful for the service of the jurors during an incredibly difficult case and unthinkably trying circumstances. We can’t bring George Floyd back, but this outcome shows our justice system is able to work.”
