Legislative Update (March 18, 2016)

Friday, March 18, 2016

Dear Bloomington Neighbors,

I hope you’ve had a great week and are ready to enjoy the weekend. Things in St. Paul continue to move at a frantic pace, but I’m learning lots and enjoying the process. I’ve met a number of you at my office, and hope more Bloomington residents will schedule an appointment to chat.

My Bills

I’ve officially introduced two bills so far this session, and more are in the works. My first bill would make it safer for those learning to drive by requiring a criminal background check for driving instructors. The bill I just dropped in “The Hopper” this week would study ways to improve long-term care in Minnesota. I also have two transportation bills that I’m working on and hope to introduce soon. If you have an idea for a bill, please contact me; the best ideas come from you!

Almanac at the Capitol

On Wednesday, I took part in TPT’s Almanac at the Capitol. It was my first experience being on live TV and it was a lot of fun. If you missed one of the original broadcasts, you can watch the entire show online here. My segment starts around the five-minute mark of the program.

In-District Office Hours

I’m planning to host a couple listening sessions in the district so I can hear your ideas and suggestions. The scheduling and logistics are still being worked out, and I’ll be sure to update you when I have dates and times confirmed. I can’t wait to see you!

Please Contact Me

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance, or just want to share your opinion. I'm here to serve you, and I always enjoy hearing from other Bloomington residents.

Enjoy your weekend,

Chad
