RELEASE: Rep. Baker Statement on the Start of 2024 Legislative Session

Monday, February 12, 2024

SAINT PAUL – State Representative Dave Baker, R-Willmar, released the following statement on the first day of the 2024 legislative session:

“I am grateful to return to St. Paul for another year representing the amazing men and women of Kandiyohi County,” said Baker. “This is sure to be another busy legislative session in St. Paul as I work hard to fix many bills that were passed without adequate review by House and Senate Democrat majorities last year—including legislation that has wrongly led to the removal of school resource officers from many schools.

“One-party-control has had devastating consequences for Minnesota families and small businesses leading to record-setting inflation, billions in new taxes, and new mandates that will limit business’ ability to provide the goods, services, and jobs that all of us depend on. Despite these challenges, I am nevertheless more committed than ever to the work I do representing our communities. Thank you for your continued support and please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions or comments.”

Baker welcomes correspondence throughout the session and encourages residents to email rep.dave.baker@house.mn.gov or call (651) 296-6206 to get in touch.
