Isaacson Named 'Humane Legislator of the Year'

Thursday, March 20, 2014

ST. PAUL, MN – This week the Minnesota Humane Society named State Representative Jason Isaacson (DFL – Shoreview) as their ‘Humane Legislator of the Year,’ citing his efforts to protect wolves from recreational hunting and trapping.

“Representative Isaacson has shown great leadership in his efforts to protect Minnesota wolves,” said Humane Society state director Howard Goldman. “This is a controversial issue at the Capitol. He took on some very powerful groups and never blinked. He is one of our champions and very deserving of our Humane State Legislator Award.”

Isaacson received the award on Humane Lobby Day. Events took place in 40 states with thousands of attendees participating and speaking to their elected officials about animal welfare.

“I’m honored to receive this award and work with Minnesotans to protect a true treasure of our state,” said Isaacson. “It’s great to see so many people at the capitol speaking with lawmakers about this issue. This is what democracy is all about.”

Rep. Isaacson encourages his constituents to contact him with any questions, comments or other feedback about the 2014 Legislative Session.
