Dear neighbors,
Last December the Minnesota Office of Management & Budget released an economic forecast showing a projected $1.1 billion state budget deficit over the next two years.
This Thursday, we’ll receive an updated economic forecast that will help guide our decisions as we craft a fair and balanced budget. Regardless of what the new projections tell us, we still need to pass a budget that invests in priorities like education and doesn’t rely on gimmicks or ask middle class families to shoulder the burden of our fiscal challenges.
As we wait for Thursday’s economic forecast, please take a moment to watch my latest video update. Every two weeks, I’ll record a new video to recap what’s happened at the Legislature and provide a preview of the days and weeks ahead.
