Howe takes oath of office

Tuesday, January 3, 2017

ST. PAUL – State Rep. Jeff Howe, R-Rockville, took the oath of office in the Minnesota House of Representatives for a third time Tuesday as the 90th Legislature convened at the Capitol to begin the 2017 session.

Howe was re-elected in November to represent District 13A, west and south of St. Cloud. The district includes St. Joseph and Avon to the north, reaches west to Paynesville and stretches south of Kimball.

“It always is nice to walk into the Capitol with a fresh start at the start of the session,” Howe said. “Legislators have spent the last several months sharing thoughts and ideas on the issues with their constituents and now we are back in St. Paul ready to put things into gear.”

Howe is serving Civil Law and Data Practices; Public Safety and Security Policy and Finance; Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance; and Transportation Finance committees this biennium.

“There never seems to be a shortage of challenges at the state level and this year is no different,” Howe said. “I look forward to working on legislation that will help Minnesotans and help our state be an even better place to work, live and raise a family.”

Howe said constituent outreach remains a primary focus of his public service. He welcomes constituents to call his legislative office at (651) 296-4373 or email rep.jeff.howe@house.mn to provide input or set up an appointment. Howe also sends periodic email updates with the latest information and his personal insight from St. Paul. You can sign up to receive them at www.house.mn/13a.
