REP. DORHOLT DISCUSSES CHANGE IN BUSINESS TAX WITH GOVERNOR

Friday, March 8, 2013

St. Paul, Minnesota — Yesterday, Rep. Zachary Dorholt (DFL-St. Cloud) met with Governor Mark Dayton to discuss the state budget. Governor Dayton announced today that he is dropping business-to-business taxes from his budget proposals.

“As a business owner, I had deep concerns about the proposed business-to-business tax and its affect on St. Cloud’s economy,” said Rep. Dorholt.  “My colleagues and I told him that we were hearing from upset businesses in our communties about this proposal.”

“The Governor was receptive to our concerns and today has announced that he is no longer pursuing a business-to-business tax.  I am reassured by the Governor’s commitment to working with folks from around the state to build a responsible budget that responsibly funds our priorities and keeps Minnesota businesses competitive.”

Rep. Dorholt can be reached by phone at (651) 296-6612 or by email at rep.zachary.dorholt@house.mn.
