ST. PAUL – Rep. Mark Anderson, R-Lake Shore, issued the following statement regarding the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s decision to accelerate widening Highway 371 between Nisswa and Jenkins as part of its Corridors of Commerce funding plan:
“It is good to see the Department of Transportation address a concern like this in Greater Minnesota,” Anderson said. “Common-sense work like this remains my priority, but too often we see taxpayer dollars wasted on metro-centric projects like light rail. Expanding Highway 371 to four lanes from Nisswa to Jenkins will improve the flow of traffic, benefit our local economy and provide added safety. I am pleased to see this project’s timeline accelerated.
