The 2014 session ends

Friday, May 16, 2014
Dear Neighbor,

Well, the good news from St. Paul today is that Democrats are leaving the Capitol now that the 2014 session has adjourned.

No more damage to taxpayers, no more outrageous spending and no more government mandates.

In 2011, a Republican majority faced a $5 billion shortfall. It eliminated it and produced a budget surplus. Yet, here we are, a few years later, when one-party rule in Minnesota has brought us historic tax increases in both taxing and spending driven by Democrats. How bad is it? Democrats actually agreed to repeal three of their most egregious tax increases this year.

The ink barely had dried!

I'll get back with a more comprehensive recap of the 2013-14 biennium next week. The last few weeks have been a real grind and I need to get some much-needed rest before I put thoughts to word.

Sincerely,
Mark
