Swedzinski returns to Capitol for new session

Monday, February 12, 2024

ST. PAUL – Minnesota’s 2024 legislative session began Monday and Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, said it’s good to be back at the Capitol working for District 15A residents with crucial issues on tap for the coming months.

“If we learned anything last year, it’s that we need more balance at the Capitol,” Swedzinski said. “Democrats in full control spent the $17.5 billion surplus, raised taxes by $10 billion and enacted extreme new laws on everything from abortion to our energy policies. They are bent on making our state the California of the Midwest instead of simply doing what is right for the people of our own state. The California-style winter we are enjoying is the one positive out of that but, in all seriousness, we need to restore balance so we can serve all Minnesotans instead of catering to the activists as was the case last year. My sleeves are rolled up for the people of our district, in Greater Minnesota and throughout our state. I encourage my friends across the aisle to take a deep breath and focus on doing what’s best for all Minnesotans this year instead of continuing to pushing their activist-driven agenda on all the good people of our state.”

Swedzinski said he welcomes correspondence throughout the session and encourages District 15A residents to call (651) 296-5374 or email rep.chris.swedzinski@house.mn.gov to get in touch.
