DAVE HANCOCK OFFICIALLY SWORN IN AS STATE REPRESENTATIVE

Wednesday, January 7, 2015

St. Paul – Minnesota’s 2015 Legislative Session officially began January 6 with Dave Hancock (R-Bemidji) and 133 other state representatives being sworn into office during a ceremony at the State Capitol.

“It is both humbling and exhilarating to have the privilege of representing roughly 40,000 people with differing backgrounds, ideas, and mindsets,” Hancock said. “I am very appreciative to represent the people from White Oak Township all the way to the northwest angle in District 2A.”

Most of Rep. Hancock’s work during the first months of session will take place in House committees. Hancock was recently appointed Vice Chair of the Minnesota House Veterans Affairs Division, and will also serve on the Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Finance, and Greater Minnesota Economic and Workforce Development Policy committees.

“Government is in place to serve the people - not to regulate or punish them - and I look forward to supporting initiatives over the next two years that will positively benefit the residents of northwestern Minnesota,” Hancock said.

Hancock encourages area residents to contact him if they have any legislative questions, concerns, or ideas. He can be reached by phone at 651-296-4265 or 218-766-4265. He can also be contacted via email at rep.dave.hancock@house.mn, or via U.S. Mail at 575 State Office Building, St. Paul, MN 55155.
