STATEMENT FROM REP. FABIAN ON LAWSUIT ATTACKING MINNESOTA'S PRO-LIFE LAWS
ST. PAUL, MN—Representative Dan Fabian, R-Roseau, issued the following statement regarding a lawsuit filed Wednesday seeking to overturn Minnesota's pro-life laws, many of which were passed with bipartisan support and have been in law for years.
"This lawsuit, supported by groups who advocate for the appalling practice of late-term abortion, is an attack on bipartisan, commonsense laws that ensure women seeking abortions are fully informed,” Fabian said. “Attorney General Keith Ellison is responsible for defending the laws of the state, and I expect him to strenuously defend these pro-life laws, regardless of his political ideology.”
The lawsuit targets Minnesota laws requiring a 24-hour waiting period, notification requirements for minors seeking an abortion, and a requirement that fetal remains be buried or cremated.
