Rep. Sanders named Chair of the Government Operations & Elections Policy Committee
ST. PAUL, Minn.—State Representative Tim Sanders, R-Blaine, today was named Chair of the Government Operations & Elections Policy Committee for the 2015-2016 legislative sessions. Sanders’ committee will hold jurisdiction over all administrative legislation, such as pensions, retirement, and state agencies, as well as elections oversight and reform.
“It is an honor to hold this responsibility on behalf of hardworking Minnesotans,” said Sanders. “I look forward to finding efficiencies in state government to ensure that taxpayer dollars are being used wisely and responsibly. On a bipartisan basis, our committee will also work to review our elections system so that all Minnesota citizens are able to voice their opinions and participate in the political process.”
Sanders served as the Minority Whip and Republican-Lead to the Elections Committee over the past two years. He was first elected in 2008 and will begin his fourth term when the legislative session convenes in January.
