I hope you are having a good summer and just wanted to pass along some information regarding this Saturday’s launch of the new Red Line bus rapid-transit corridor along Cedar Avenue.
The event will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. It will take place at the Apple Valley Transit Station (15450 Cedar Ave. S).
Free bus rides, food, music and prize giveaways from local businesses will be included. Kids can register to win tickets to the Minnesota Zoo and meet Twins mascot TC Bear. Complete event details are available by clicking here.
The Red Line initially will have three stops in Apple Valley (155th, 147th and 140th streets). It will make one more stop in Eagan and then reach the other end of the line at the Mall of America. There, riders could transfer to the Hiawatha light rail line and continue to Minneapolis.
Red Line buses will run every 15 minutes for much of the day and a full schedule is available here. It is an estimated 23-minute trip from one end of the line to the other.
