Governor Releases Bonding Proposal for 2014 Session

Thursday, January 16, 2014

Dear Neighbors and Friends,

On January 15, the Governor released his proposal for this year’s bonding bill. Governor Dayton’s proposal included various infrastructure projects that will help put people back to work across the state. I’m confident that by the end of the session this year, we’ll have a well rounded bill that supports communities across Minnesota. But this is just the start of the process.

When we return to the Capitol in February, both the House and the Senate will propose their own list of projects for the bonding bill. Throughout the session, each chamber of the Legislature will work to find a common list of projects they can support and send to the Governor to be signed into law.

So while the specific list of projects is likely to change between now and the end of session, the goal remains the same: putting people back to work by investing in roads, bridges, schools, and communities.

If you know of any infrastructure projects that could benefit from state support in our area, please don’t hesitate to contact me by email (rep.andrew.falk@house.mn) or phone (651-296-4228). I’d be happy to work with you to get it submitted for consideration.
