St. Paul, Minn. – Following an announcement by Gov. Mark Dayton that he would allow the Republican reinsurance bill to become law, State Representative Erin Murphy (DFL-St. Paul) issued the following statement:
“When it takes nearly $600 million to stabilize one small segment of the health insurance market for just two years, maybe it is finally time for Minnesota to explore a fundamental restructuring of our health care system. Moving forward, I hope the legislature looks more seriously at the MinnesotaCare Buy-In or perhaps even a Medicare-for-All model. If we put our best minds to work, I’m confident we can once again make Minnesota a bold leader in delivering affordable health care to everyone who needs it.”
