Mighty Citizens,
The GOP House and DFL Senate Leadership have agreed to joint budget targets. While it's unclear what policies have been agreed to, and when we'll be done, I can tell you that I cannot support the education budget that they agreed to.
I stand with Governor Dayton in his call for an investment of $550 million in E-12 Education and half day universal Pre-K starting in 2016.
He has threatened to veto the education bill unless it contains adequate funding and universal Pre-K. I agree with him. We have a projected surplus of nearly $2 billion. Shortchanging our children isn't what you sent me here to do.
Mighty Together,
Erin Murphy
