House Republicans Launch MNsure Comment Website to Gather Feedback from Minnesotans Affected By Delay in 1095-A Tax Forms, Other Problems Related to Health Care Exchange

Thursday, March 31, 2016

SAINT PAUL, MN— On Thursday, House Republicans in the State Government Finance Committee launched a website to gather comments and feedback from Minnesota families, taxpayers and small business owners affected by MNsure. Minnesotans testified before their committee yesterday about the difficulties they have faced with our state's health care exchange. The most recent concerns revolve around the thousands of Minnesotans who are waiting on their 1095-A form to file their taxes, an issue that MNsure has promised to finally resolve by the end of this week.

"MNsure's failures continue to accumulate with their substantial backlog of 1095-A forms being just the latest example," said Representative Sarah Anderson (R-Plymouth), Chair of the State Government Finance Committee. "MNsure must be held accountable to the people it serves, and unfortunately, legislators often do not hear about many of these problems until it is brought to light by constituents. I am hopeful individuals will share their stories on our newly launched MNsure comment page to help us better understand the difficulties that people are experiencing with our health care exchange, and the impact it is having on Minnesotans across the state."

"MNsure is clearly failing Minnesotans, and they have every right to be upset," said Representative Bob Loonan (R-Shakopee). "By creating a page where frustrated citizens can voice their concerns, we help MNsure specifically address the numerous failures. To repair your car, you need to determine exactly where the odd noise is coming from so you know what to fix."

The new website can be found at http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/cmte/comment and is also linked on the House State Government Finance Committee page. Minnesotans are encouraged to share their personal experiences with MNsure on the website.
