Propane Emergency Update from Rep. Kim Norton

Friday, February 7, 2014

Dear Neighbors,

I want to remind you that I will be hosting my “Second Saturday” coffee meeting on February 8th from 8:30-9:30am at Dunn Brothers Coffee (120 Elton Hills Drive NW) in Rochester.

Local input guides my decision-making during the legislative session and I encourage everyone interested in sharing their views or who enjoy discussing legislative issues to attend. There is always an excellent discussion on the issues facing our state.

There is also updated information on the propane shortage emergency that I have copied below.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns about this, or any other important issue at (651) 296-9249 or via e-mail at rep.kim.norton@house.mn

Sincerely,

Kim Norton

State Representative- Rochester

Propane Shortage Hotline
Last week, the State of Minnesota established a toll-free hotline: https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/ooc/news-releases/Pages/Update-2-Propane-Shortage.aspx

Minnesotans affected by the propane shortage can use these resources to ask questions or seek assistance in this time of emergency. Minnesotans with questions about the current propane situation or who are in danger of running out of heating fuel should call (800) 657-3504 in Greater Minnesota or (651) 297-1304 in the Twin Cities. The hotline operates daily between 9:00am and 4:30pm. For callers with less than 10% of their tank left, hotline staffers are connecting them with their local propane retailer and helping to facilitate payment arrangements so that tanks may be filled immediately.
